Four and twenty Debt Reductions, baked in a pie

Two dozen Carnivals of Debt Reduction already, and it’s back to home base. Thanks for all of the great submissions!
Here we go!
- Five Cent Nickel heads off the pack with some chat about Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps — apparently he has a soft spot for some of Dave’s ideas.
- A top ten list for debt causes, reported by Free Money Finance.
- “Getting out of debt and into my dreams!” is the raison d’être for The Debt Hater. She’s already won a big chunk of the battle. She has a plan!
- Another great take on tracking where the money goes, courtesy of Aridni. Includes a helpful rule of thumb if you can’t write down where every penny goes.
- A key to debt reduction is not acquiring new debt, especially when you don’t have to. Searchlight Crusade paints a not-so-rosy picture of reverse annuity mortgages and expounds on why they’re often a lousy idea.
- Want to get out of debt? Hire a debt consolidation service! Well … not so fast. Jim, the Blueprint guy, says it’s all right to just say no.
- Trainwreck continues to pay down his credit cards by selling his stuff, according to the 12-month rule.
- A good read if you’re in debt is Liz Pulliam Weston’s new book, reviewed thoughtfully by Personal Finance Advice.
- Here’s some fresh commentary on the new bankruptcy laws. (What better a place for a pig in a poke than Below the Beltway?)
- A nice story from Uncle Bill on paying $500 to fix up an older car instead of acquiring loads more debt for a new one. (Side note: It’s nice to know that my wife isn’t the only person who names her vehicles.)
- Updates from the members of the No Credit Needed Network. I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again: This is a great idea.
That’s it for this week’s carnival! Next week: Pluebint for binan… uh, Prosprint for bluenational… Frosblint for prosnotional finacity… oh heck! It’s being hosted here!
Also, special thanks to our carnival sponsor, Debt Free LLC!

Thanks very much for the thumbs-up on the new design, guys.
It’s amazing what you can come up with when you pour coffee, Guinness, Diet Monster, and caffeine-free cola into your system for a few hours. If that’s not the recipe for creativity, then I don’t know what is.
Nickel, I saw that you had changed the format of your site to something simpler, and I was inspired to do likewise.
