Staple food items for 15% off on Amazon

My wife and I have recently discovered the wonders of raw organic agave nectar for sweetening tea and other things.  (It's low-glycemic index, and it doesn't overpower the taste of what we're sweetening the way honey or maple syrup does.)

We tried a small bottle from the grocery store, and like it enough that we want a supply of it.  Amazon.com carries the brand we use at a price substantially cheaper than what the grocery store charges.  (We have Amazon Prime.)

What makes an even better deal of the whole thing is that this item qualifies for Subscribe & Save.  In exchange for agreeing to have the product automatically delivered, I get a 15% discount. The quantities and delivery frequency are flexible, and I can back out at any time.  Now, I don't just “subscribe” to get the 15% and then back out, without ever having the intention of buying more than one.  That's probably something that's going to get me flagged as a problem customer, and I don't want that.  But we estimated about how much we would use, and Subscribe'd & Save'd accordingly.  The other item we have on Subscribe & Save is the sugar-free vanilla syrup that we use to make my wife's steamers.

Anyway, this is an easy way to make good deals at Amazon.com 15% better.

  1. You can do the same thing with some non-grocery products too. My business doesn’t do quite enough shipping (yet) for me to get wholesale pricing on packing tape since the minimum orders are far too large so I get 6 rolls delivered every 4 months from amazon. It’s cheaper from amazon than buying at the local office store even before the 15% off.

  2. I LOVE agave nectar syrup. Pick up a bottle of the light syrup for baking. It is an amazing substitute. I’ve got a couple of great cookbooks for baking with agave nectar. So now I can have whole grain, no sugar sweets. Love it.
