It looks like eBay has added a feature that I've been interested in having for a while. When dealing with a new seller it makes sense to check the feedback of the seller, especially if it's not almost perfect. But I hadn't found a way to check the negative and neutral feedbacks without scrolling through screens and screens of positives.
Now the feedback history of a seller has clickable links for positive, neutral, and negative feedbacks. I can look at all of the non-positive feedback with a couple of clicks. This is a big improvement.
Also, I received an e-mail from a website owner that introduced me to a different kind of eBay bargain site. The principle is based on something you may have noticed when you've found what looks like a really good deal on a bulky item: the seller won't ship. It's for local pickup only. Great if you lived close to the seller, but usually this isn't the case.
This local bargain finder lets you enter a ZIP code and a search radius and then prints out a pretty nicely-filtered list of items that may be great deals for the simple reason that they're for local pickup only. But what's nice is they're close enough to where you live that you may be able to take advantage of them! Had I known about this site I would have used it before buying a TV.
Anyway, things have gotten a little tougher for sellers but it's getting nicer for buyers.
Have you run across any new eBay tricks?
Imagine how good you will feel when you ship something to a buyer and they say the expensive item you sent was actually just a brick and they won't pay.. and all you can leave for them is positive feedback…
Ebay is horrible now. Buyer chicanery is up tenfold and we get the privilege of sky-high FVFs paired with it. I'm sooooo glad most of my ebaying was "done" by April.
I'm glad that ebay finally got around to implementing this feature! I know what you mean about scrolling through pages and pages of feedback to find the negative comments posted on a members account.
Sounds like a great feature to check out negative and neutral feedback. I've heard that many have moved over to amazon or some of the other ebay like auction formats. Great site. I stumbled it!
That website definately sound like a fun idea for browsing what's available locally. Sure, I would imagine a lot of local-only sales are targeted to Craigslist, but I'm sure there are some good deals to be found here too. Thanks for the link.
And I didn't realize the new "see specific feedback" feature was implemented. That is a really good idea; I wonder why the heck it took ebay so long to implement? Probably has to do with wringing more pennies out of their users somehow. 😉
