Best things to buy in March
Here are things that you can find good deals on in March:
- Boxed chocolates. Yeah, retailers still have some Valentine's Day candy around. Life is like a box of chocolates: At some point, neither improves with age. Stores need these gone. Like yesterday. So they can bring in Easter candy.
- Frozen foods. Did you know that March is Frozen Food Month? Yeah, me neither. Just to check, I went to the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association, Inc. (I didn't know such a thing existed, but I'm not surprised) and sure enough: Happy Frozen Food Month, everybody! Let the frozen food deals happen!
- Exercise equipment. I was good for the first month of the year about exercising and … then kinda petered out. But if you're in the market for a treadmill or elliptical trainer, these are things to buy in March. As with any big purchase, though, consider it carefully because the store probably won't make it easy to bring back, and it may not be free to do so!
- Gardening tools. With the crazy-nice February we had, my wife has already been out at about in the backyard making things pretty and more functional. March, though, is the official start of spring, which is just around the corner. Home and garden shops will compete for your business as your garden gets back on your radar, which is now.
- Golf clubs. Some people tend to gardens a bit differently: by stripping away the grass in brushy areas blade by blade with a 7-iron. It's getting to be the time of year for golfing, too. And deals abound (unless you already have a set that doesn't see much action in your garage, in which case just use those).
- Good skis. The snow is melting, and the sporting goods stores want their winter sports inventory to melt away, too. High-end snowboards probably will be on sale, too. They're just really, really wide skis, right?
- Sandals. Not my kinda thing but others can pull it off with style! (My heels would need to be a foot wide. Oh, wait …) Sandals are a spring and summer thing so these deals will be around for a bit.
- Perfume. Again … not really my thing; I'm trying to cut down. But if you didn't get your favorite perfume for Valentine's Day (or even Christmas) then your perfume-buying bonanza has arrived.
- Luggage. Whilst there were travel deals in February, luggage deals are good in March. Winter hibernation travel is wrapping up, so it's a good time to get a new set of luggage.
Interesting list here John. Didn’t know there was even a “frozen food month”, but I do a lot of canning from the garden, and thought it pretty keen. Was happy to see garden tools also (never have enough of those things).
Great site, good stuff!!
Thanks for stopping by, Brad!
We do some canning as well (a lot of jams/jellies because our fruit does well).
