No, really … a computer and a Paypal account are all you need
I've been making money online for over 20 years, and almost all of the hustles I've tried take effort and cost.
I've built websites, social media accounts, a YouTube channel, an email list, digital products, and more.
I've also signed up for apps that give you fractions of pennies for doing an endless supply of mind-numbing tasks. (Most of these I've since quit using.)
What I'm going to tell you about involves none of that.
No websites, no plugging on social media accounts, no building an email list.
And, probably most important of all, no mindless brain-rotting ad clicks.
Nothing.
Well, almost nothing. You'll need a computer, an internet connection, and a PayPal account.
But if you've got those, you're probably good for what I'll show you.
Install these apps and forget about them
The two apps I'll show you below will pay you for allowing private, anonymized, and safe sharing of part of your internet bandwidth.
If you can't wait to install the apps and get started, here they are:
To start earning money with these apps, all that's necessary is:
- Download the apps
- Do some minimal setup (which the websites describe)
- Turn them on
That's it. No clicking on ads, no logging in every day, none of that.
The apps use a very reasonable amount of your bandwidth to provide businesses with a distributed network to gather business intelligence without sending a lot of clues that they're doing it.
The businesses that do this are thoroughly vetted by the app companies, so it's set up to be ethical and legal.
Most importantly, the businesses know nothing about you. EarnApp and HoneyGain know only the minimum amount to provide the service, and pay you.
How much I've earned to date
I installed EarnApp and HoneyGain at the beginning of 2024, and to date I've earned a little over $100.
That's a little over $10/month.
I've earned $44 from EarnApp:

It's not life-changing money, but it's so easy!
Both of these apps are almost completely passive.
You don't need to baby-sit them or interact with them, really.
If you want, you can earn a small amount extra inside HoneyGain, but it's not necessary.
And there's nothing extra to do inside EarnApp at all. No choice but to just let it do its thing!
They have referral programs, but again, not necessary
EarnApp will pay you 10% of what your referrals earn, and HoneyGain pays a variable amount (currently it's 25%, but that can change).
Of the $104 I've earned so far, only about $4 of that is from referrals. Some of that is from the sign-up bonus from HoneyGain (currently the sign-up bonus is $3, but that can change).
So it's not like you need to peddle your referral link to earn what I earn.

Why am I recommending this? It's only $10/month?!
As I mentioned before, this isn't life-changing money.
It's more about starting the journey of making money online.
1. If you haven't gotten started making money online, this is a great way
It's easy, and it's passive, and requires very little up-front investment of anything.
And you get a Starbucks run out of it once a month.
There are much harder ways to make money online than this. Let's get a small win now!
2. It's simple to promote, should you want to
These two apps (and others like them) are easy to explain to someone else.
It's a good introduction to selling. You sell something that's free and makes people money.
There are much harder things to sell than these apps! Commissions are awfully fun to get!
3. It's something to build on
Once you get this running and get your first payments in your PayPal account, I hope this will be incentive to try other things!
Maybe you'll learn how to set up a YouTube channel to share cool stuff and maybe make some money at it.
Or maybe you'll earn some money writing on Medium.
Or develop your own digital products and sell them on Gumroad.
And on from there.
These take more work, but the rewards are potentially much greater.
